ACT legislation has been passed for smoke-free public transport waiting areas, effective from 1 October. This is great news for those using public transport who are affected by second hand smoke while waiting at stops. These areas include bus stops, taxi shelters and light rail stops (when built).

"More than 93 per cent of people who participated in a government survey on the "Your Say" website over three months supported smoke-free stops and stations.”
