My interest in supporting Cancer Council ACT follows from family members suffering from this insidious and silent disease.
My father and mother both died of lung cancer (self-inflicted), as they were heavy smokers. My sister, who never smoked, died 3 years ago from liver cancer after a late bowel cancer detection—she was 77. My late wife died aged 76, from complications arising from stomach cancer even though she was very careful with her diet.
People need to be rigorously educated about this disease and the Cancer Council is a leading organisation in this field. Support Cancer Council ACT for the benefit of the community.
