We are incredibly grateful to our Canberra community for your amazing and generous support this Daffodil Day Appeal! The iconic Daffodil Day Appeal is Cancer Council ACT’s longest running fundraiser and is much-loved throughout the Canberra region. The daffodil is the international symbol for HOPE, and there was no better time to spread some much-needed hope throughout our community, working together to raise vital funds for cancer research.

Together, we have raised over $70,000 towards our vision of a cancer free future.

It’s because of your amazing support, we have raised over $70,000, which will go towards funding life-saving cancer research and to support those who are affected by cancer in our community.

The National Carillon Goes Yellow For Hope.

The official date for Daffodil Day was Friday 28 August and was commemorated with some of Canberra’s iconic buildings lighting up yellow across the Capital, including Telstra Tower and the National Carillon. Our fundraising campaign continued from August, throughout September.

Despite things looking a little different this year, without our traditional sites to sell fresh daffodils, the need to stop cancer hasn't changed. So many wonderful people continued to support this much-loved campaign by donating virtual daffodils online and responding to our Appeal,  while many businesses, schools and members from our community hosted fabulous yellow-themed fundraisers. We also held our first ever Daffodil Day Online Auction for Hope, which saw some incredible prizes up for grabs, kindly donated by generous businesses within the community.

Thankfully, due to the amazing support from our media partners at Canberra FM, we were able to order fresh daffodils in bulk from our supplier, just two weeks out from Daffodil Day! Fresh Daffodils were available to the public for pick up from our office. As well as a plea to Canberra businesses, from both Hit 104.7 and Mix 106.3, saw businesses donate and order through the radio stations, which then saw beautiful daffodil bunches delivered straight to their office door by the Mix and Hit giant Daffo-dude Street Crews!

Congratulations Canberra FM! Our Highest Daffodil Day Appeal Fundraisers
