Conder Medical & Dental Centre sets the pace for this year’s Biggest Morning Tea!
This morning, (10am, Thursday 23 May) Conder Medical & Dental Centre will bring the local community together to kick off Cancer Council ACT’s 2019 Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea campaign.
The team at Condor Medical & Dental are keen to support the work of Cancer Council ACT as team members have been impacted both personally and professionally by cancer.
Practice Manager, Kim Stratford said “This is our first Morning Tea event and it will now be an annual fundraiser, as the value of the contribution to our community is vital. The support services and information provided to those going through a cancer challenge is valuable at a time of uncertainty.”
Cancer Council ACT’s Chief Executive Officer, Sandra Turner, is encouraging people to brush up on their baking skills, share recipes and at the same time help people affected by cancer. “Together we gain strength in numbers and getting together to raise funds through a morning tea can go a long way to helping those in need,” Ms Turner said.
Every dollar raised through Australia's Biggest Morning Tea helps fund Cancer Council’s life-saving research, prevention, advocacy and support programs right here in the ACT.
“One in two Australians will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85 and close to 1,600 people will be diagnosed with cancer in the ACT in the next 12 months,” Ms Turner said.
“Engaging the community in events such as Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea not only improves awareness about cancer and prevention, it shows how everyone in the community can have an impact in working towards a cancer free future,” said Ms Turner.
Hosts can register today to receive a free morning tea host kit with everything needed to plan their event during May and June at www.biggestmorningtea.com.au
