Regular / In Memory Givers
Our family was touched by cancer for the second time when our wife, mother and grandmother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in October 2013. We were very lucky that it was diagnosed at such a very early stage.
While as a result of the ongoing treatment Mary’s quality of life wasn’t the best she was still able to be there when her only son was married and to see her third grandchild born.
After Mary was diagnosed with cancer the family really appreciated the support provided by the Cancer Council ACT. This included access to resources which provided information on pancreatic cancer, much needed emotional support and access to Cancer Council ACT’s Wig Service.
Following Mary’s passing in late October 2014 the family committed to supporting Cancer Council ACT in a number of ways in their endeavour to raise funds for research, prevention and support services.
We provide support through regular monthly donations, participating in Cancer Council’s Daffodil Day and entering a team in the Relay for Life. The ‘Red Frogs’ team which has walked in the relay for past two years in memory of Mary has now raised over $8,000 for Cancer Council ACT.
