Tahnee Bass

Tahnee Bass

Cancer is personal. Not just for every mum, dad, child, or friend that is diagnosed. But also for those they love… for those who help them through the hard times… for those who miss them when they’re gone.

Why Tahnee Bass has been hosting an Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea for the past six years.

My name is Tahnee Bass and I was just 11 years old when I was diagnosed with Leukaemia. Five years later I was diagnosed with a secondary cancer in my thyroid. Not exactly the kind of thing you want to hear when you’re so young.

Thankfully, I am cancer free now.

Cancer is personal. Not just for every mum, dad, child, or friend that is diagnosed. But also for those they love… for those who help them through the hard times… for those who miss them when they’re gone.

That is why I am in my sixth year of hosting a Biggest Morning Tea for Cancer Council ACT at my workplace. I want to make sure that others like me and their loved ones are able to get through their cancer experiences. Every dollar we raise goes towards Cancer Council’s vision of a cancer free future — it helps fund their vital support, prevention and education services.

So do it for your mum, your mate or just for every person who has been affected by cancer. We’re all in in this together, particularly with the year we’ve just had. What better way to celebrate the people we love then to host a Morning Tea (in a COVID safe way) – we deserve it!
