Scott Marshall
Scott hosted his first Biggest Morning Tea event 30 years ago, after his mum was diagnosed with colon cancer.
The family reached out to Cancer Council ACT for advice on supporting the care of their mum through her cancer. Scott appreciated the help and guidance so much that it led him to want to give back.
“I had heard about Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea and thought this my way to payback what was great advice from Cancer Council ACT.”
Scott has enjoyed hosting 30 years of Biggest Morning Tea’s across various workplaces – from days back with Ansett Australia to now in the public service.
“I don’t mind rolling up my sleeves to help out,” says Scott, “It has always been my way to say thank you.”
Across this time Scott has hosted small office events of 10-15 people, to large departmental affairs that saw many donating. Even in the pandemic, he didn’t miss a year with online donations outdoing those inhouse. Scott is very grateful to all the people, at work, family and friends that have donated over all the years.
“I enjoy the challenge to raise the funds and host each year. Setting the goals and competing against my past totals – it’s all just about paying it back and forward.”
