SunSmart Resources

These new evidence-based resources have been strategically developed in consultation with the NSW Department of Education and other education and health sector representatives. They offer teachers a set of flexible classroom materials that align with the outcomes, objectives, skills and content of both the NSW PDHPE and Science syllabuses for years K–10.

These resources are also linked to the Australian Curriculum, where relevant, and can be used by Canberra teachers.  They are also linked to the SunSmart program.

A free PDF download for young children to enjoy and learn from. Activities include; The SunSmart Game, Make a SunSmart Bookmark, Spot the SunSmart Differences and more.

Online activities and learning modules to assist Canberra teachers across the Early, Middle and Upper primary school years to reinforce the importance of sun protection to reduce the risk of skin damage that may lead to skin cancer in later life.

This free online learning program upskills ACT school teachers and students about skin cancer, being SunSmart and how to incorporate sun protection activities into day to day activities. Choose Generation SunSmart for your TQI Teacher Identified Activity.

ACT primary schools are encouraged to upload the FREE SunSmart Widget to their school's website. The widget not only works as a general reminder to be SunSmart, but it also indicates what time sun protection is required each day along with a daily max temperature and rain forecast for Canberra.

The "Be SunSmart today" poster is an ideal way to remind children, staff and parents to your service when sun protection will be required each day in Canberra. It can be downloaded, laminated and displayed in practical locations throughout your service for all to see.
