Involve the entire school community

The VAPE Support program vision is to create entire school communities that denormalise and prevent vaping in young people before they start, and that provide safe, effective, and non-judgemental quit support to those who are currently vaping. Achieving this requires informing the broader school community on how to support this vision outside of school grounds, and outside of school hours.

Our team want to work with your educators, health support staff, administration, and parents and carers to further strengthen our vaping prevention and quit support messages wherever students may seek help. How this looks for your school may include;

  1. Brief education sessions for educators and staff on pupil-free or PD days, or during staff meetings.

  2. Face-to-face or online education and Q+A sessions with parents and carers to reinforce smoking and vaping messages students receive at school.

  3. Training for all staff on safe therapeutic approaches to enforcing smoking and vaping policies.
