Practical Support

Cancer Council ACT provides various practical supports to those impacted by cancer.

Finances

To assist you with legal issues, financial planning, workplace (HR or recruitment) advice we have the followng services:

  • Cancer Council's Legal Referral Service
  • Cancer council's Financial Planning Referral Service
  • Cancer Council's Workplace Referral Service.

These services will concentrate on the most common legal, financial and workplace issues experienced by patients and carers.

You can also speak to a social worker at your treatment centre and they can refer you.

 

For ACT and NSW residents needing to travel interstate or long distances for medical treatment that is not available locally the Interstate Patient Travel Assistance Scheme (IPTAS) provides financial assistance towards accommodation and travel costs.
