In the lead up to World No Tobacco Day on the 31 May, Cancer Council ACT is encouraging all smokers to have a go at stopping smoking, even if it is just for one day. The theme this year is ‘tobacco and lung health’. This annual campaign, developed by the World Health Organisation(WHO), raises awareness of the harmful and deadly effects of tobacco use and second-hand smoke, and discourages the use of tobacco in any form. This year the campaign will increase awareness of the negative impact on lung health and the role that lungs play for health and wellbeing of all people.
